ICSU games against Indianhead and KKFS

On Wednesday of last week, the ICSU boys team defeated local rival Indian Head High school in boys basketball, Levi Miller had 21 and Jeff Chae had 17 points.   On Saturday the boys team beat KKFS by 15 points in a friendly match.  Boys had a great defensive game. The girls team lost in a very close game to KKFS. APIS games on 12/10/2011

On Saturday at Camp Red Cloud.  The girls basketball team continued their winning ways with a 26-11 win over Asia Pacific.  The girls go into Christmas break 3 and 0 in the league and in first place.   The boys overcame the loss of their team captain John Gang (who had knee surgery on Saturday) and two other starters being injured to win at the buzzer on a shot by Jeff Chae to win the exciting game.

On Saturday at Camp Red CloudGirls Varsity team pulled together and got a good win versus a pretty strong GVCS team.   Boys varsity had a good team effort with John Gang getting 8 points, Masa Haraguchi 8 points, Chris Sumler 8 points and 12 rebounds and Jeff Chae with 19 points.  Strong defense by Hahn Lee and Samuel Hsiao also helped the team to a solid victory.

ICS basketball games versus PICS 12/2/2011

Girls team pulled out a dramatic win versus PICS (our sister school in Pyongtaek) 37-35.  Julie Byun and Christy Won had very good games and led the team in scoring. The boys varsity team played a very strong game and won 60 to 15.  Leading scorers were John Gang with 12 points and Jeff Chae with 21 points.  Masa Haraguchi and Samuel Hsiao had good games as well.

Tipoff basketball tournament

On Saturday, November 19th the boys Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball teams participated in a tipoff tournament at Camp Red Cloud.  JV team lost to APIS by two points in a good game and beat KKFS in their second game.   Varsity team beat APIS by 10 points, they were led in scoring by John Gang and Hahn Lee.The Varsity team also beat IndianHead High School by 12 points. KAIAC Cross Country Champianship

Congratulations to the ICS Cross-Country Teams for a great finish to the 2011 season.  The girls finished 5th for the tournament with all of them running their fastest times of the season.  Julie Byun placed 3rd in the race with a time of 21:21 and Gloria Kim placed 10th.  Both were All Conference and All Tournament for the 2011 season.  The boys placed 2nd overall for the season
